Solutions Engineer

Sterling, Virginia
Work Type: Full Time

OUR MISSION

To tackle the growing e-waste problem, Molg enables circular manufacturing with robotics and design. Its robotic microfactories can autonomously disassemble complex electronic products, and the team partners with leading manufacturers to design electronics with reuse in mind — ensuring one product’s end is another’s new beginning.

Molg combines advanced robotics and intelligent software to transform how electronics are manufactured and recovered. Working with partners like HP, leading hyperscalers, and industrial companies such as ABB and Stanley Black & Decker, Molg’s solutions recover valuable materials from existing devices while helping create the next generation of products optimized for circularity. This dual focus on recovery and design innovation drives Molg’s mission to keep materials in use and reduce waste.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

As a Solutions Engineer at Molg, you’ll serve as the technical bridge between our product and our customers. This is a cross-functional, detail-oriented role ideal for someone who thrives on translating complex technical capabilities into real-world projects. In this role you will:

  • Serve as the main technical point of contact for customers, managing the handoff from business development to deployment.

  • Translate internal product capabilities into clear, customer-facing deliverables such as product data sheets, deployment plans, and pilot reports.

  • Develop and standardize key technical documentation templates, including pilot reports and deployment guides, to support repeatable and scalable execution.

  • Coordinate logistics and execution for site installations, including working with electricians, facilities staff, and customer stakeholders.

  • Communicate proactively and credibly with external teams, setting realistic expectations and helping customers understand what is technically possible.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Molg engineers and product teams to capture feedback, identify blockers, and refine deployment processes.

  • Contribute to project execution and documentation, supporting repeatable, scalable rollouts of Molg’s automation technology.

  • Think critically about edge cases, compliance, and customer constraints—and help design processes that allow our systems to succeed in varied environments.

WHO YOU ARE:

You’re a technically grounded communicator who thrives at the intersection of product, engineering, and customer success. You bring structure to ambiguity and know how to navigate complexity without over-promising. You’re comfortable in startup environments, where context shifts quickly and there’s always something to figure out.

  • 2–4 years of non-internship, non-academic experience in a solutions engineering, systems integration, or customer-facing technical role — ideally at a startup or fast-moving company.

  • Experience managing engineering projects or deployments, ideally involving hardware or automation systems.

  • Exceptional communication skills and an ability to break down technical concepts for both internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Comfortable interfacing directly with customers, including during pilot programs, site visits, and deployment coordination.

  • Technically literate with an understanding of how systems come together — across mechanical, electrical, and software components.

  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple parallel threads.

  • Self-starter with a bias toward action and ownership.

WHO WE ARE:

We spend our days building robotic systems, developing complex assembly intelligence software, and designing the next generation of circular products for our customers. Given the importance of working hands-on with physical systems, we are a 100% in-person team collaboratively working in our industrial space in Sterling, VA, down the road from the largest data center market in the world. Our facility includes a variety of robots, CNC milling machines, 3D printers, and all the tools needed to build and test our products. It is important to us that anyone on our team that is interested in learning how to use our various pieces of equipment and machinery is taught and can gain the skills and appreciation for making physical things.

THINGS TO KNOW:

  • We’re a small collaborative team with big ambitions, and there’s a good amount of context-switching. We expect people to be autonomous and drive their own work to completion.

  • We are a profitable business that is primarily funded from customer revenue, which means we are scrappy and looking to build a great sustainable company for years to come.

  • As a growing company and startup, priorities may shift as customer or business requirements change. We strive to empower individuals with context and decision-making power to meet this need.
